Arthur Troop Scholarships

ScholarshipTen Arthur Troop Scholarships are awarded annually, two for each continent in which we have member Sections – Africa, America, Australasia, Asia, and Europe.

Each Scholarship consists of a bursary of not more than 2,500.00 Euros that is to be used for a seminar at the International Conference Centre IBZ Schloss Gimborn or a comparable institution. Applicants must have been a member of IPA for at least 3 years before applying and the scholarship must be taken between 1st January and 31st December following the grant of the scholarship (extensions not granted).

The study Scholarship may be awarded to IPA members in police service, but predominantly targeted at the younger member. The member must submit an application setting out their reasons to support their selection.

Applications for the Arthur Troop Scholarships are available online, through the IPA website on this page, and once completed go directly to the International Administration Centre (IAC).

The IAC then contacts the appropriate Section, to confirm that the applicant is a financial member of the IPA and has been a member for at least 3 years. The scholarship must be taken between 1st January and 31st December of the year following the awarding of the scholarship (extensions are not granted).

While applicants do not need to advise the New Zealand Section submission of their application, New Zealand Section highly recommends informing the NZ Section Secretary-General of their application to ensure application criteria are met, i.e. serving officer, minimum 3 years IPA membership and a current financial member.
